Aviation specialists of the Met Office and meteorology instructors and Oxford Aviation Training have jointly developed aviation Meteorology Training. This Aviation Meteorology course is a self-teach, multi-media, interactive computer based training course of both theoretical and practical Meteorology for pilots of all levels, from PPL to ATPL. The main aim of this CBT is to provide pilots with pilot-oriented training in Aviation Met theory and to teach them to use this knowledge to interpret met forecasts and reports to plan safe and expeditious flying sorties. The CD ROM has been split into 3 sections, part one covers the requirements of the JAA PPL, CPL and ATPL theoretical knowledge syllabi for Meteorology and much more. Emphasis is placed on the practical significance of meteorology phenomena for pilots, when in the air. The also course contains self-assessment tests, with feed back so you can benefit from Oxford Aviation Training's unequalled experience in training students for the JAA ATPL. Part two contains instruction on types of forecast available to pilots and interpretation of forecasts for flight planning. Part three teaches pilots how best to access and use the Met Office weather information.
